What does SpatialDesk do?

SpatialDesk streams a Windows application window directly from a compatible Windows PC to the companion app on Apple Vision Pro. It also relays supported pointer, click, keyboard, clipboard, and pinch-drag scrolling actions over the same trusted private network.

What devices and operating systems are required?

You need Apple Vision Pro with visionOS 26.0 or later, a 64-bit PC running Windows 10 22H2 or Windows 11, and both SpatialDesk apps. See the hardware requirements for processor, memory, graphics, storage, and XR recommendations.

Do the PC and headset need to be on the same network?

Yes. Core discovery, pairing, signaling, streaming, and input require the PC and Apple Vision Pro to be on the same trusted private IPv4 network. Guest Wi-Fi, client isolation, VPN routing, and different subnets can prevent discovery.

Why does my Windows PC not appear on Apple Vision Pro?

Set the active Windows network profile to Private, choose the correct adapter under Network Routing, confirm both devices are on the same IPv4 subnet, and disable VPN routing temporarily. On managed networks, allow TCP 19842 and 19843 plus UDP 5353 on the Private profile.

Where is the pairing code?

The six-digit code appears automatically on the Windows host's Apple Vision Pro Devices page. If it does not appear, restart SpatialDesk and verify that a usable private-network interface is selected.

Does SpatialDesk send my screen through a cloud server?

No. Video, audio, signaling, and input are exchanged directly between the Windows host and the explicitly paired headset on the local network. Max Power IT does not operate a cloud relay for SpatialDesk capture traffic.

Does SpatialDesk collect analytics or upload diagnostic logs?

No automatic analytics, telemetry, or diagnostic upload is built into the app. SpatialDesk retains an anonymized local diagnostic window containing only the most recent five minutes. Export requires acknowledgement and creates a text file on the Windows desktop for review and optional manual submission.

How do I submit a diagnostic log?

Open Diagnostics on Windows, choose the export action, read and accept the acknowledgement, and review the resulting text file on the Windows desktop. Then use the diagnostic-log support tab to submit it manually.

Why is the stream low resolution or stuttering?

Check that hardware video encoding is enabled in Diagnostics, update the GPU driver, connect the PC by Gigabit Ethernet, and use clean Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 for the headset. Software encoding, congested Wi-Fi, VPNs, mesh hops, background downloads, and GPU-heavy applications can reduce resolution or increase latency.

How does pinch-and-drag scrolling work?

Point at the streamed Windows window, pinch, and drag vertically or horizontally. SpatialDesk translates the gesture into Windows wheel input for the selected application. Pinch and release performs a click.

Can I use a keyboard and clipboard?

Yes. Choose Focus keyboard in the headset viewer before typing with a connected hardware keyboard. Clipboard text moves only when you use the explicit copy or paste controls; SpatialDesk does not synchronize clipboard content continuously.

Why is a window black, frozen, or missing?

Keep the source window open and visible to Windows. Minimized windows, protected media, some hardware overlays, secure system surfaces, and applications that block capture may not provide usable frames. Select a normal application window and try again.

Can more than one headset connect at the same time?

SpatialDesk currently supports one active headset viewer per Windows host.

What is marked Beta?

The MCP Server controls and immersive XR integration for ALVR, SteamVR, and browser WebXR are Beta. They may change and may not work with every title or browser experience. Core Windows application-window streaming does not require the Beta features.

What do I need for SteamVR games?

Install Steam and SteamVR on Windows and obtain a compatible ALVR client for visionOS separately. Start ALVR + SteamVR from SpatialDesk, open ALVR on Apple Vision Pro, approve the headset in ALVR Dashboard, and wait for SteamVR to show a connected headset before starting a compatible game.

Does SpatialDesk replace my system-wide OpenXR runtime?

No. For browser XR, SpatialDesk launches Chrome or Edge in a dedicated profile and supplies the SteamVR OpenXR runtime only to that browser process. It does not replace the system-wide OpenXR runtime.

Does the Windows app install a service or kernel driver?

No. The Microsoft Store package installs no Windows service or kernel driver and does not silently add firewall rules. The optional bundled ALVR component is a user-mode SteamVR driver registered with the user's existing SteamVR installation only when the XR Beta workflow is started.

How do I update or uninstall SpatialDesk?

Microsoft Store builds update through the normal Store update process. To uninstall, exit SpatialDesk from the notification-area icon, open Settings > Apps > Installed apps, select SpatialDesk, and choose Uninstall.
